I’m not sure what they smoke over there in Brussels because he is either as high as a kite or talking
about a different planet.
I’ll start with his statement of the bleeding obvious:
“People have lost trust in the EU and the first way to regain this is to throw open our doors and
work transparently”
Well it’s nice to find an EU politician who has apparently noticed that hundreds of millions of people
throughout the entirety of the EU have a problem trusting a group of secretive, tyrannical, unelected
pen pushers.
Every good that has been achieved by the EU has been eclipsed by the loss of liberty and democracy,
by the rule of a faceless, nameless body of bureaucrats who seem to have the power to override the
democratically elected governments of Europe to enforce some of the most mind bogglingly stupid
rules and regulations in history. Bananas too straight anyone!
The UK suffers from government after government who slavishly adhere to the EU rules and regulations
to a degree no other country seems to. Our Laws seem to come directly from the back rooms and offices
of Brussels and we have neither choice in accepting them or any knowledge of who is imposing them on us.
People have lost Trust in Europe. Damn right they have.
How about:
"Let me say to all those - including some in this House - who rejoice in Europe's difficulties and who
want to roll back our integration and go back to isolation: the pre-integrated Europe of the divisions,
the war, the trenches, is not what people desire and deserve."
So Euro Skeptics and anyone else who wants to prevent the EU turning into an unelected super state or
to restore democratic power to nation states that have been eroded over the decades are going to return
us to the first world war.
Right. Because it was the EU that has been responsible for peace across Europe since the Trenches of the
First World War which was 100 years ago next year. Well apart from the period where the Germans were
crushing everything in sight.
It was the military might of the The European Coal and Steel Community which held back the Soviet tanks
across the borders in East Germany in the 50s.
Those nations in Central Europe which were clamoring for military protection against the Russian Federation
after the fall of the Soviet Union did so because they expected the EEC/EU tank divisions and fighter squadrons
to protect them.
Having democracy in Europe will lead to war and suffering. Rejecting ever tighter control by the faceless drones
of Brussels will return us to fighting, we will be digging trenches in the fields of France again and there will be concentration camps springing up again.
How desperate have these Eurocrats become when they can no longer explain the benefits of the EU and
instead are reduced to threatening a return to war if we dare to resist.
I rather think that the will of the people of the UK expressed via information Age technology such as texts,
tweets, emails and more to our MP's which led to a vote of NO to war shows that the people of GB-PLC are
not interested in killing and dying in foreign fields.
We don’t want to fight people, we want a working economy, jobs, trade, employment, plenty to eat, cheap
fuel and energy costs, a decent standard of living for our families and a future for our children.
If Germany starts to get unpleasant we stop buying their cars and washing machines, we are not going to
put a thousand planes in the air to start bombing them. These days we would be very hard pressed to
launch 100 aircraft anyway and we have far better things to do with them than annoy the Germans.
Recent events on the world stage have highlighted the position the US, the UK and France hold.
Our PM called for war, failed to produce any evidence and was duly told off and sent to sit on the naughty
stool by a British Parliament that is beginning to realize that this is the 21st century and the nature of
democracy is changing.
The French then jumped is as Americas oldest Ally only to take their cheese and run away when they
realized the US was spinning on the spot.
The US. Well where to start. We seem to have Putin now setting US foreign policy. Obama’s policies are
changing direction faster that the wind on a gusty day. We will, we will not, short bombing, pin prick
attacks, devastation, regime change, not a regime change, vote in the house and no vote.
These last few days the media are almost listening to Russian news channels to find out what the US
governments policy is going to be.
Our Leaders look weak and confused. It is the East that is showing strength of leadership and when you
look behind the EU good news smokescreen to see that it is the southern European economy burning
the East is the more stable economy as well.
We live in dangerous times, a well trained, highly skilled armed force is vital for our defense against the
many nations that pose a direct threat to the UK. But we don’t want to be sending our young men and
women to bleed and die in some hell hole you cannot find on a map. Nor do we want to face the same
kind of war mongering here in Europe.
Vote for the EU to have more powers or it will be war!
Submit to non democratic control by Brussels or start digging the bomb shelters.
Obey the faceless grey suits or look to the skies for the zeppelins.
Can we just get back to improving our economy by trading with the rest of the world, finding markets
for our good and services, exploring new opportunities for business and working to make friends and
partners in the world rather than continuing to hand our democracy over to the ever tighter EU
control over our lives.
