I may have mentioned this before but I’m a little paranoid, I look at events and I worry about what’s going on as I see patterns of events current and historic. So the last few weeks have had me twitching a bit because SOMETHING IS GOING ON, but I can’t as yet see what. Our Government have been doing too many things that make them look incompetent recently, too many U turns and policy reverses, too many incidents where they are blatantly not giving a shit regardless of the fact that they are in the public eye. The insult they have been showing the tattered remains of our democracy in parliament for example, being told off like naughty children for playing with their mobiles instead of paying attention. But there are several areas where they have turned around completely after saying they were inflexible and unyielding. The Tories had said the following: All schools will become Academies, every school. This will be done because academies are the solution to all the problems affecting schools. The government knows best and teachers should just shut up. This will happen. Junior doctors need to be forced into a new contract because people are dying at weekends and those greedy and lazy junior doctors don’t care. The UK will not be taking in unaccompanied child refugees or in fact any refugees because taking any of them will just encourage more to fell UK bombs falling on their homes and head for the UK as refugees. So Academies. Plan dropped, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan wasn’t serious when she said it was going ahead and wouldn’t be stopped. The government has listened to people and the 2022 target to have every school an academy has been dropped. People are talking about a humiliating climb down. It makes the education secretary look like a fool but No10, as usual has slipped off the hook like the greasy scum that they are and it’s all her fault. But aside from throwing the whole contentious idea at the public to distract from the economy, the deplorable Tory London mayoral campaign and the Brexit what was the point. Well it looks like a dead cat again. The protests are all nodding and smiling and telling each other they stopped it but if they had only looked at the small print they would see they haven’t done any such thing. Its yet another cynical Tory game, demand something really bad then make everyone happy when the government is forced to accept less than they demanded but what they wanted in the first place. The new deal is that any school can be forced to become an academy if its educational performance is considered bad enough, which means Ofsted has the power to force any school to become an academy as the first resort, without changing the headteacher, or trying to improve it in any way, not good enough, wham, private sector. Then we have a little note about how any schools could be forced to apply to become academies if they represent a small enough proportion of the schools in the area due to the others having already become academies or if the local councils demonstrate inability to support those schools. Or to put it another way there is a huge built in slippery slope where schools are persuaded to become academies and then others who chose not to are forced to change because the schools down the road have changed. Junior doctors. Demonised, slandered, insulted. Jeremy Cunt has repeated the Mantra that the government has negotiated in good faith and it’s the doctors who are at fault that it must be written on the insides of his eye lids. Our media has followed the agenda, hiding the strikes or heralding doom and gloom and all done to protect the poor dying patients who are dropping dead as soon as the weekend arrives. Then suddenly after all the back and forth its ’we’ll hold off for another week to give the Junior Doctors a chance to negotiate’. Where did that come from, was it because the public still seem to be supporting the doctors and the NHS in spite of everything the Tories had thrown at them, or was it because they had some advanced notice of a report being released, one that clearly showed that Cunt and the government had been lying through their teeth, that there was NO increase in patient deaths at the weekend and that the whole campaign against the Junior Doctors was smoke and mirrors. The recent elections have pushed this news out of sight and I suspect outside of social media this little snippet of news is going to absent in the weeks to come though I suspect the Junior Doctors aren’t going to forget or forgive. Question is, have the Tories done enough damage or will they be back, because you know the fight isn’t over till our current political class are driven from power or the NHS has been carved up for corporate profit. Refugees. Children, 3,000 of them and many thousands of adults. Fleeing death and destruction, war and exploitation. You can hardly open a news web page or TV program without seeing them in the camps in France or Syria. But the government was inflexible, we will support the camps in Syria but we will NOT support those who are in France. Over and over we heard this. Until we didn’t. Has out Tory government checked down the back of the sofa and found some humanism and compassion, erm, no. Instead Dave is agreeing to take in child refugees if, that’s IF someone else pays for them. The someone else seems to be our councils, the same ones who are cutting back on support for people already here because of Tory cuts. Those councils. So how they find more money for these children is a question I’m sure many of those councils are asking themselves. Dave though, well he can simply say the local and regional councils are refusing to take the children and stand before the people saying how sad it is but he has no choice but to say no. Nothing sticks to him. But while this is in the news alongside how terrible it has been for labour that they didn’t do as badly as was predicted before the elections and that Mr Goldsmith’s anti Muslim campaign failed other things are passing quietly. The release of TTiP, that vanished from the media and apart from Social Media it’s gone. Our government were involved in it, negotiating it, keeping it secret. Nothing, tumble weeds blowing in the wind. The police forces who are starting investigations into as many as several dozen MPs who are allegedly guilty of fraud with regard to hiding funding during the 2015 general election. A two inch mention in the middle pages it its mentioned at all. But I’m still looking for what else is going on. Long experience with this government tells me there must be something they are trying to hide behind all these smoke screens. Perhaps it’s the ongoing BBC conversion into a Tory propaganda machine is well advanced and with the recent news that the Government will be choosing who sits on the BBC board along with the rabidly anti Corbyn way the supposedly impartial broadcaster has been acting the writing does seem to be on the wall. But you won’t see that in the news. The Tories are all about state funded private services, why would you expect the BBC to be any different. The new governing body, packed full of Tories will be the start, then they will begin to push the benefits of having the BBC run as a private sector body, someone will mention setting up a charity to run it just like the hospital trusts and academies. Next will be problems with funding, programs cut, services falling away due to lack of cash. Finally, probably around 2018 which is long enough for people to begin complaining about the poor quality we will see the private sector step in and the BBC will morph into a Media trust. A year to get the new management in and to, ahem, adjust the staffing to match the new corporate attitude and the new BBC will be ready. Just in time for the beginning of the 2020 election run up. At £3.7 BILLION the BBC represents a massive jackpot for the private sector, and since the license fee is compulsory it's like Christmas forever. The BBC has been under attack for a while now so expect to see this ramp up in four to six months once the new committee are in place to be ready to demand answers to the media attacks. Is this the only thing going on? Probably not. But then I’m Paranoid. |
