newspaper and TV channel. The time when what is left of the party faithful for each of the three
gather in one place and try to make enough noise so no one notices just how few of them there
are.
We have had Labour with the return of State control, nationalisation of Land ownership,
central control of our electricity prices and more.
Oh Ed. The reason our electricity bills are so high is because of all of those “Green” subsidies
that your party created. Cancel them and all our bills drop.
The Lib Dems with a chorus of “We are not the Tories” along with “Lower Taxes” and “More
Green Taxes”.
To be honest I kind of tune out the Lib dems as they lie almost as much as the Tories and Labour
do these days.
Does anyone still vote Lib Dem after the whole we are” Anti nuke, nuclear weapons are evil, disarm,
they are a huge waste of money, get rid of them, CND, no civilised nation should ever use or own a
nuke, Ban the Nuke”, Oh yes, no problem, we vote to keep them as long as you promise to consider
thinking about the possibility of getting rid of them at some point in the future, maybe.
So much head spinning, pea soup and an exorcism any day now.
Anyway here we are, two days into the Tory party convention and there is a clear theme emerging.
It’s those accursed unemployed. They are responsible for the mess the economy is in, they are
destroying our culture and trying to bring down our nation. They must be punished!
That’s just day two. Who knows how bad it will be by the time the entire conference is over.
All long term unemployed will be made to work at jobs such as helping the elderly, cleaning
the streets or working in charities.
No mention of the fact that they are currently stacking shelves in the big supermarkets but I
suspect that will continue.
No mention of what will happen to those people who currently do those jobs and will be made
redundant to be replaced by these jobseekers.
The Unemployed will be forced to attend the job centre every day to sign on.
No mention of how many extra staff the DWP will need to handle the extra workload since
currently sign on are bi weekly so that’s a 14 fold increase in workload for the job centre staff.
The Unemployed will be forced to attend the Jobcentre and stay there 35 hours a week for expert
support and supervision for up to 6 months. This will be targeted at those who have just started claiming
benefits and to those who are long term unemployed. Six months before the work program starts and
six months afterwards.
No mention of where the extra staff will come from to run these classes, that expert support and
supervision is going to take full time staff at least 35 hours a week to provide.
Yes I know they are saying selected individuals, does anyone believe that this will not be applied to all
Jobseekers.
The Unemployed, the Unemployed, everywhere the Tories look are those damned Unemployed.
Hunt them down, make them pay, punish them then hide the bodies.
Oh and for those who still have jobs we have the Tory Mantra that British workers are lazy and
unmotivated. We had stories about people getting their mothers to phone in to work saying they were
tired and couldn’t work 48 hours a week.
British companies should treat British workers as charity cases and give some of the poor little
darlings a job even though immigrant workers are better.
One of the most visibly Tory spokes-things is busy waving his blond mop and telling people to
hire a token Brit while giving the rest of the jobs to those hard working Eastern Europeans who
are happy to work 48 hour weeks.
So if you don’t have a job you are workshy scum cheating the system.
If you don’t have a job it’s your fault for not trying hard enough so you are going to be made to sign
on every single day to make you look harder.
If you don’t have a job it’s because you have a job on the side and must be locked in a room 35 hours
a week to stop you having a job and make you look for a job.
And finally if you do have a job and you are British you are lazy scum and deserve to be replaced by
some hardworking Eastern European type unless your employer takes pity on you and allows you to
keep your job as an act of charity.
We live in a time when the economy is still uncertain.
We live in a time when those who have jobs are not certain how long those jobs will last.
We live in a time when those who are not in a job find themselves looking at a tiny number of vacancies
and competing not just with millions of other unemployed but also with hundreds of thousands of
imported workers.
We live in a time when the weakest and most vulnerable in our society are at the greatest risk of
having all support withdrawn from them leaving them with no possibility of life aside from the
charity of friends or strangers.
We live in a time when those who have little or no control over their lives and destinies are
demonised and punished for being helpless.
We live in a time when compassion, consideration, and simple Humanity are called a drain on
resources that must be cut back while at the same time Billions of pounds are being given away
to corrupt regimes, tyrants or foreign nations with space programs.
Welcome to Britain in the 21st Century.
